DES MOINES, IA- A significant structure fire prompted a Des Moines Police and Fire response on McKinley Avenue on Thursday afternoon, according to the Des Moines Police Department.

At approximately 12:43pm, officials reported and responded to a structure fire near the 900 block of McKinley Avenue. The incident caused significant damage to the building, and two pets were killed. No other information has been released at this time.
