DES MOINES, IA - One person was taken into custody following a brief police pursuit and resulting crash in west Des Moines early this morning.
According to a report by the Des Moines Police, the chase ensued at about 2:05 a.m. near the intersection of 22nd Street and University Avenue. Officers pursued the suspect for just over 5 minutes before their vehicle cashed at the intersection of 35th Street and School Street.

The unidentified driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot, but was arrested a short time later.
It is unclear at this time why officers pursued the suspect. Should additional information come to light, this blog will be updated.
