News: Driver injured following crash on US 218 in Black Hawk County

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IA - According to WHO 13, a driver was hurt in a wrong-way collision on US 218 near George Wyth State Park Friday.

A 26-year-old male was driving a Dodge Charger south in the northbound lanes of US 218 when he collided with a semi-truck driven by a 50-year-old male around 2:15 a.m.

The collision caused the Charger to catch fire and sent the semi-truck driver through the median and into southbound US 218.

Rescue crews transported the 26-year-old to an area hospital. It is unclear if the semi-truck driver was hurt in the incident.
