DES MOINES, IA - According to We Are Iowa, the motorcyclist who was injured by a stray tire near I-235 EB and 31st St on Aug. 5 died from his injuries on Aug. 9.
A driver was heading west on I-235 when one of his tires broke loose and bounced into the eastbound lanes of traffic where it hit a 44-year-old motorcycilst and knocked him off his motorcycle around 3:40 p.m.
Rescue crews transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital, where he died four days later.
Authorities cited the driver for not having proof of insurance and driving without a license.
