MILLS COUNTY, IA - A driver crashed into the median after having a medical episode on I-29 Friday, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
A 60-year-old woman was driving a Chrysler Pacifica south on I-29 when they had a medical episode and slammed into the cable barrier in the median around 5:35 p.m.
The driver continued down the median for about 1 mile.
A bystander extricated the driver from the vehicle and performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.
Rescue crews transported the driver to an area hospital.
