CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - According to KCRG, a teen pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to a fatal crash on 1st Ave SW on Oct. 24, 2022.
The then 18-year-old male was driving erratically on the 800 block of 1st Ave SW when he collided with the rear of the vehicle in front of him around 9:23 p.m. The collision pushed that car into an oncoming pickup truck.
A 77-year-old female passenger in the car that was rear-ended and hit by the pickup truck died in the crash and the 73-year-old female driver was hurt.
The defendant pleaded guilty to serious injury by reckless driving, homicide by vehicle, OWI, and serious injury by vehicle.
