LINN COUNTY, IA - One person is dead following a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle near County Home Rd and N 10th St Tuesday, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

The semi-truck driver was heading west on County Home Rd as the driver of a Nissan Rogue was heading north on N 10th St. The semi-truck driver collided with the Nissan Rogue and pushed it into the yard of a vacant house at 2409 County Home Rd around 8:23 a.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the passenger in the Nissan Rogue dead at the scene and transported the driver to an area hospital with serious injuries. The semi-truck driver was mildly injured in the crash. It is unclear if they were taken to an area hospital.
Officials have not released the victims' names.
