FORT MADISON, IA - According to KWQC, a driver struck and killed a pedestrian on the 3400 block of Ave L Monday.
A 56-year-old male was driving a pickup truck when he collided with a 64-year-old female as she was crossing the road around 11 p.m.
Rescue crews transported the pedestrian to an area hospital, where she died.
Authorities do not believe speed or impairment was a factor in the collision.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
