News: Motorcyclist fatally collides with car near Valley Junction

WEST DES MOINES, IA - A motorcyclist died after crashing into another vehicle while fleeing from the police near Railroad Ave and Grand Ave Tuesday, according to KCCI.

A 25-year-old male was riding a motorcycle without a license plate west on Railroad Ave when an officer spotted him and attempted to pull him over around 8 a.m. The motorcyclist fled at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist ran a red light at the intersection with Grand Ave and collided with a southbound car.

Rescue crews pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The car driver was mildly injured in the incident.

The incident is under investigation.
