DES MOINES, IA - Officials have pushed back the trial for the second man charged in a fatal crash on Fleur Dr on Dec. 13, 2022, according to KCCI.
Authorities say the defendant, a 47-year-old male, was drinking with a 35-year-old male at the Wicked Rabbit on Army Post Rd when the two decided to race each other.
The 35-year-old male lost control of his car and collided with two other vehicles, killing a four-year-old boy.
A jury found the 35-year-old guilty of operating while intoxicated, vehicular homicide by street racing, and reckless driving.
The 47-year-old driver is charged with homicide by vehicle. His new trial date is Sep. 11.
