News: Woman injured following single-vehicle crash on Mt. Vernon Rd

MT. VERNON, IA - According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, one person was hurt in a single-vehicle collision at 1001 Mt. Vernon Rd Monday.

A 30-year-old woman was driving a 2022 Toyota Prius west on Mt. Vernon Rd when she left the roadway and struck a mailbox before crashing into a ditch around 4:35 p.m.

Rescue crews transported the driver to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities cited the driver with Failure to Maintain Control.
