POWESHIEK COUNTY, IA - One person died in a three-vehicle collision at US 63 and US 6 Monday, according to We Are Iowa.
A person was driving an SUV south on US 63 when they ran a stop sign at US 6 and collided with a trailer hauled by a semi-truck around 1:56 p.m.
The collision propelled the trailer into the eastbound lane of traffic where a semi-truck crashed into both the pickup truck and the SUV.
First responders pronounced the SUV driver dead at the scene of the accident and transported the pickup truck driver to an area hospital. The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
The incident is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
