News: Officials release more info on Boone house fire

BOONE, IA - According to We Are Iowa, officials have released more information concerning the house fire on the 1300 block of College St Monday.

Officers received notice that Michael GLynn, 45, had violated a no-contact order and responded to the house on College St around 2:43 p.m.

Glynn was alone in the house when officers arrived. Officers attempted to get Glyn to exit the residence, but he refused. He allegedly started a fire inside the structure before leaving it and running to a neighboring garage around 4:44 p.m.

Authorities apprehended Glynn and charged him with first-degree arson, second-degree arson, interference with official acts, and violation of a no-contact order. They took Glynn to an area hospital for treatment before taking him to jail.
