CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Authorities have charged a man regarding a fatal three-vehicle collision on the 800 block of 1st Ave SW on Oct. 24, according to KCRG.
Zawadi Christophe, 18, allegedly rear-ended a car around 9:23 p.m. The collision pushed the vehicle in front of Christophe into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.
Rescue crews pronounced a 77-year-old woman dead at the scene and transported a 73-year-old woman to an area hospital with serious injuries. The pickup truck driver was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Authorities charged Christophe with Homicide by Vehicle, Serious Injury by Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving Under Suspension.
Christophe has recently been charged with a shooting in July 2022.
