News: Firefighters battle house fire on Barret St in Burlington

BURLINGTON, IA - The fire marshal is investigating two fires that happened at the same house at 217 Barret St on Thursday and Friday, according to KWQC.

Emergency crews first came to the home around 5 p.m. Thursday. Fire and smoke were coming from the house's second-story window.

Crews rescued the homeowner's dog and transported it to the animal shelter. Nobody was home.

Firefighters returned to the house for a fire around 2 a.m. Friday. Nobody was home then either.

The house did not have working carbon monoxide or smoke alarms.
