GRANDVIEW, IA - Officials have identified the woman who died in a house fire on the 200 block of N Madison St on Tuesday, according to KWQC.
Dispatchers received calls concerning the fire around 6:17 a.m. A deputy arrived at the scene at 6:23 a.m. They did not enter the house due to the fire and smoke bellowing out from the house.
Firefighters arrived at the house around 6:29 p.m. They put out the fire and searched the house. They found the body of a 56-year-old woman and her two dogs inside the home.
The incident is under investigation by the State of Iowa Fire Marshal's Office. The cause of the fire and the woman's death are pending results from the state medical examiner's office and the state evidence lab. Foul play is not suspected.
