DES MOINES, IA - Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a fatal crash that happened at SE 8th St and Emma Ave on Thanksgiving, according to We Are Iowa.
An officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on a 46-year-old male driver when the driver sped off heading south on SE 8th St around 1:30 a.m. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and slammed into a ditch.
Rescue crews transported the driver and his 66-year-old female passenger to an area hospital, where the woman died.
Authorities arrested the driver and charged him with Homicide BY Vehicle - Eluding, Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Driving While License Suspended, Fraudulent Use of Registration, and No Insurance.
