POLK COUNTY, IA - The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that happened on I-80 near mile marker 133 on Sunday, according to We Are Iowa.
A driver was heading east on I-80 when they slammed into the rear of a semi-truck around 1:38 a.m. The collision caused the car to flip over and slide to the center lane.
Rescue crews transported the driver to an area hospital. The driver's 40-year-old female passenger died in the incident.
The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.
