ANKENY, IA - A dog viciously attacked a girl walking her dog outside of Applewood Properties at 2517 NW 14th St on Monday, according to KCCI.
The dog bit the girl around 12 times, causing the girl to bleed profusely. The victim had surgery on Tuesday.
The owner of the dog put the pet down.
Witnesses to the attack believe the dog that attacked the girl was a pit bull.
It is unclear if the pet owner will be charged with the attack.
