GUTHRIE COUNTY, IA - One person is dead and another is in the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on IA 44 near Koala Ave on Friday, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
A 60-year-old woman was driving a 2011 Ford Focus west on IA 44 when she strayed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with a 2023 Chevy Malibu driven by a 54-year-old man around 9:51 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene and transported the man to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the incident
