DES MOINES, IA - Authorities have charged a 17-year-old male for a fatal two-vehicle collision that happened at SE 14th St and Watrous Ave on Dec. 23, 2023, according to KCCI.
The 17-year-old male allegedly collided with a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old man as he entered the street from a business parking lot.
The 35-year-old man died in the crash.Authorities believe the teen was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the collision. They also say he was driving over 70 mph in a 40 mph zone. Police have charged the teen with homicide by vehicle — OWI, and homicide by vehicle — reckless driving.
