DES MOINES, IA - Officials have identified the victim of the auto vs. pedestrian collision that happened on the 4900 block of NW 2nd St on Monday, according to We Are Iowa.
The driver collided with a 41-year-old male who was walking in the southbound lanes of NW 2nd St while wearing dark clothing in a poorly lit area around 8:15 p.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Following the collision, the people inside the vehicle that struck the man remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
