News: Man arrested for fatal crash on Waverly Rd in Davenport

DAVENPORT, IA - Authorities have arrested a man for a deadly auto vs. pedestrian collision that happened on the 600 block of Waverly Rd on Dec. 23rd, according to KWQC.

A 45-year-old male was driving south on Waverly Rd when he collided with a 25-year-old male pedestrian around 10:20 p.m.

Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died.

The driver was not hurt in the collision.

Authorities arrested the driver on Friday and charged him with homicide or serious injury by vehicle, a first offense OWI, failure to maintain control, and speeding.

The Davenport Police Department is investigating the incident.
