News: Troopers investigate fatal 3-vehicle crash in Sioux City

SIOUX CITY, IA - The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a deadly three-vehicle crash that happened near Gordon Dr and Spalding St on Wednesday.

Troopers were pursuing a 2001 PT Cruiser driven by a 40-year-old woman because she was speeding and driving erratically.

Authorities ended the pursuit around 4:32 p.m. because of the high rate of speed at which the 40-year-old woman was traveling.

The 40-year-old woman then crashed into the rear of a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 29-year-old man.

The collision caused the PT Cruiser to roll over and collide with a 2018 Ford Edge driven by a 36-year-old woman.

Rescue crews transported the PT Cruiser driver to an area hospital, where she died. They treated the 29-year-old man for minor injuries.
